Day 3: 30 August, Friday

We woke up early in the morning to go apply for our bank account and student pass. Got my student pass-cum-ez link-cum-bank card alr but got no photo yet.

Eight of us went separate ways today for the afternoon so me, Yixin, Cheryl and her buddy went to this Chinese restaurant called "Chao Chao" to eat Ja Jang Myun and Tang Su Yok. It was awesome.

Then Cheryl's buddy, Minjung, accompanied me to downtown Daejeon to go Citibank withdraw my money. We took a bus there with her but came back on our own. Achievement unlocked!

On the bus to downtown Daejeon :)
We decided to get ramyun for dinner and it was all under KRW$1,000! So cheap!! Then we went to drink with Adrial's buddy. I must say the korean guys can really drink. We are really nothing compared to them. They can drink at 5 different places in one night! Jinjja daebak.

Soju :)
We're finally back in our dorm at 10pm+ and we're all feeling tired. So I'm going to have an early night! Excited for tomorrow because we're going downtown to do shopping tomorrow!

Day 2: 29 August. Thursday

Its a less taxing day today, like finally.

We woke up early because there was a supposed Korean proficiency test at 10am. Supposed haha. End up it was only for students who applied to learn the korean language and we didn't. I planned to wake up at 9am but dear Yixin's alarm rang from 8am at 5 minutes interval for like 10 over times till it woke me up. And the best part? Her alarm ringtone was Big Bang's Fantastic Baby. Daebak.

So we met up with the rest and walked around Daejeon. I think we practically finished walking around Daejeon already. Yes it is that small. xD

Another shot of Daejeon streets.

A shot with our reflection because we loved the decor on the window.

We had porridge for brunch. Apparently it was one of the best stores in Korea. We had Kimchi Octopus Porridge, Abalone Porridge, Vegetable Porridge and Seaweed and Beef Porridge. The name of the shop was "Bon Juk" (본죽).

Had our brunch at Bon Juk
And then we went to a cafe - Sunny Cafe - for coffee. We ordered Iced Cafe Latte, Iced Mocha, Cafe Mocha, Mango Yoghurt Smoothie and Green Tea Latte. Considered pretty cheap as compared to Singapore. The Iced Cafe Mocha was nice anyway.

아이스 모카 두게 주세요 ^^
And again love the decor on the window. Why Singapore don't have? :(

On the way to school for orientation... Taiquan's scandal number one. :P

Taiquan's scandal number two. How can he be so good with girls? xD

With Boeun in the background xD
Us and our buddies during our orientation :D

Cafe again. Deli Roti. We had Cookies & Cream Smoothie. Yums.

And our Polaroids during tea break.

We had a gathering for dinner and it was so much fun!

We ended the night at 8.30pm and now I'm back in my dorm. It has been drizzling the whole day and the weather is a little bit colder. Gossiping with roommates now. Haha. Have a good night everyone~

Day 1: 28 August,Wednesday

I'm finally in Korea~~~

Took the 2235 flight yesterday night from Singapore to Seoul and arrived at Incheon International Airport at 6am. Wanted to have Paris Baguette for breakfast but ended up eating Dunkin' Donuts instead.

Paris Baguette Cafe at Incheon International Airport, Seoul
Transport was supposed to arrive in the afternoon, and we were supposed to wait for the four other friends on the later flight, so Yvonne and I decided to go fetch them while Adrial and Cheryl waited elsewhere.

It was just a matter of seconds! Just when we sat down at the exit gate for the arrivals, SHINee walked out! It was definitely a great start for my Korea trip. Too bad Minho wasn't there. :(

From right to left: Key, Taemin, Onew, Jonghyun
While waiting, we walked around the airport and wanted to explore further. I bought myself a "must-try" in Korea - banana milk, and we stopped by the cinema. Guess who I spotted too?? :P

Banana Milk (bottled) - KRW 1,200

Girin Gwangsoo xD
We sought help from a Shawol to take a group picture for us too.

Back (left to right): Sean, Adrial, Taiquan
And look at the amount of luggage we had with us!

4 full trolleys of baggage :O
After 6 hours of flight, 8 hours of waiting and 3 hours bus journey, we finally arrived at our dormitory! Pardon me because I haven't got time to take a photo of our dorm as yet, so maybe tomorrow!

We had free time after that, so eight of us walked down the streets of Daejeon to purchase our daily necessities. Took two pictures of Daejeon's streets.

Lastly, settled our very first meal in Daejeon by ourselves! It was a difficult one but we did it! Communication and comprehending the menu was basically the whole problem...

Dinner at "Ahn Cho"
Self shots with my roommates at night. Hehe.

On the overall, Day 1 was really tiring. But it was fun because I'm with friends and in the country that I love everything about. Let's hope tomorrow gets better. Goodnight!

7 more hours!

7 more hours to my flight! Still packing my luggage... omo

I hope my luggage weight is within the restricted limit. I literally brought my entire room there haha!

So excited for the trip! I hope everything goes well there. Gonna miss so many people here too, my family, my friends, and a few special people in my life.

15 more hours till I arrive in Korea. Till then, I'm off to continue my packing~ ^^

Freedom!!!

The smell of freedom... Ahhhh~

Ended my last paper today at 11am and went out with my classmates for a farewell "party" haha. The paper was bad man, damn bad; not gonna talk about it. I just sincerely hope I pass all my modules this semester or else going to OSEP would really be a wrong choice... *sobs*

Anyway, I'm like another week closer to my departure! Having mixed feelings after the pre-departure briefing yesterday. I wonder if I will feel homesick. After all its my first time overseas alone for months. Wish me luck.

Exams are over so it means I can start packing my luggage (like finally!). I think I'm gonna like bring my entire wardrobe there man. Hahaha just kidding.

Looking forward to 27th August. Korea, I'm coming! :D

Countdown to Korea Trip: 2 weeks!!

Just ended my first paper today - Services Operations and Quality Management (BM0454). And it means exactly two weeks to my Korea Trip!

Was thinking how to keep track of my life in Korea when I was walking home just now. And I decided the easiest way was to do a blog. I just hope that I have time to keep up to it when I'm there!

I really can't wait for exams to be over. Really can't wait to get out Singapore, out of this rat race. Can't wait to experience school life overseas. Well, I just hope it'll be an enjoyable one.

Meanwhile, gonna go mug for my exams already!
