Day 68: 03 November, Sunday

Yet another week has passed but my mid terms are not over. Why.

I have GSM report due on Thursday. Working on it the whole of today.

I slept till about 2pm (same goes to the girls) and washed up and prepared to do my report. The girls and Adrial went downtown shopping (I think) while Taiquan left home early in the morning to explore (I think) and Sean was sleeping all the way (I think). Haha. I'm not sure what everyone did today because I was just in the PC Room the entire day. I didn't even bother taking photos for lunch (chicken, cheese sticks).

So I stayed in the PC Room until dinner time when they came back. They had Mac for dinner but I didn't because I didn't know what to eat. Grabbed some bites after that. I was running dry of brain juice so I went to shower first to take a rest. I joined the rest in the lounge once I was done and we started discussing about some political stuff and, "Anonymous".

Having our discussion in lounge.
I believe its kinda a hot topic now because of the video (or the article) that went viral on Facebook. Anonymous is a multi-national organization that hacks into governmental websites. They managed to hack the US few years back and remain uncaught. They recently posted a video that threatens to hack Singapore government websites if the Singapore government insists on having the law of "filtering information online to protect its people". It basically means every information published must be filtered and opinions cannot be published. Kinda violating our rights. That's why they came into the picture and asked Singaporeans to dress red and black on 5th November as a form of protest.

Everyone can have their own stand of it, and we were sharing our thoughts in the lounge. I personally feel we should not let an outsider affect what we have built so far. I can understand their objective, but to think of it, the worst thing that can happen (as Adrial mentioned), is that CPF gets hacked, all of the citizens money either gets taken or messed up, stock market will crash, SGD will become worthless. Singapore will be chaos. At least that's not something I wish to see to happen. I'm currently in Korea and I really don't know how to react on this. It just sounds like some serious shit to me.

Not only that, but we also shared our views on the Singapore Government. Because Adrial is of legal age he is able to vote for General Elections, he kinda shared with us a lot of information I didn't know before. We were just discussing on why did Tony Tan even got elected as president? And all the dark sides of every election... Tin Pei Ling, whoever that candidate that suggested girls to go for NS, and Hossan Leong... Lee Hsien Loong saying that we're a Sampan 2.0 and more... I like talks like this. :)

Share with me your thoughts if you want (you can comment below) about the Anonymous and more. I know the police is involved in the case, and many sites have already been hacked. Philippines isn't spared too. I just thought, if they could hack the US and not get caught by the FBI, what can Singapore do?

That's just some food for thought tonight. It kinda got me thinking so I don't really have the mood to do my report. I just hope things will be fine at the end.

Meanwhile, its already 3rd of November, good luck to Uni students for your exams coming up, poly students for your new semester and JC students for your finals/As too!
