Day 73: 08 November, Friday

Happy Friday!! We're going to Jeonju for field trip!!!

We are supposed to report 9.50am at the Eagle statue so we planned to meet at 9.20am at lounge. Yixin wanted to wake up 8.30am and Cheryl 8.15am. But when I went 8.50am they were not up yet. Really sleep deprived lah we.

Wanted to bring my bunny along but my bag no space...
Got some breakfast and tidbits at Orange Mart and reached there on time!

Buses to pick us up!
We were split into teams and given our name tags! Took some group photos and departed!

Group 8!
Our name tags~
Unbelievably beautiful.
Hannam 8 is back!
Jeonju field trip with LGC~
The bus ride was 1hr 40min. We arrived at Jeonju and had our lunch: 전주 비빔밥 (Jeonju Bibimbap)!! It was satisfying!

After that we boarded the bus and headed to our next destination: Jeonju Traditional Culture Centre!

We had about 40 minutes free time so we did many things! (and took many photos xD)

We tried the Korean traditional seesaw (that was meant to be played standing up). Here's two videos of expectation vs reality. Watch it!

We also did a mass "Bababa" dance... :) Watch video here ><

I was in Group B (groups 5-8), which meant we should go for 사물노리 (Korean Traditional Percussion Quartet)! It was basically like a music lesson, where the teacher teaches us how to play certain beats and rhythm on the traditional drum! It was kinda a fun lesson. When class ended, during our free time, Vishu and I tried playing the drums randomly and surprisingly it turned our pretty good!! Check out the video!

So at 3pm we went for the other program, 탈춤 (Korean Traditional Mask Dance)! We had fun hearing stories behind the traditional masks and learnt the traditional lion dance!

And a video of the traditional Korean lion dance!

At 4pm we headed to the next destination for our next programme: Pottery Making!

Introduction (video) & briefing
It is my first time actually so I was kinda excited. The pottery teacher first explained to us how should we do it and demonstrated for us. He was so good!!

Soon after we all started on our own pieces. We could decide what we wanted to do (bowl, cup, vase etc) and I chose to do a bowl!

Watch video xD
We spent two hours in the pottery workshop and the teacher helped us complete our masterpieces!!! I think they're gonna send us our pottery pieces! Can't wait!!

My masterpiece...
A few more masterpieces around...

At about 7pm we went for dinner! We had meat (yes we are carnivores) but we dk what meat is it actually! It tastes like pork ribs, a bit like chicken satay, but texture like beef! Quite delicious but not enough to satisfy our stomachs.

Dinner!
Meat that tastes like pork ribs, then like chicken
satay but texture like beef.
Watch my Instavideo of the sizzling meat!!

We went to leave our bags in our guesthouse after dinner! I love the guesthouse man...

The guys' room!
We kinda got the largest room of all students so we were pretty happy with it. The rooms for the others were so small that if they stretched their arms, they could touch both sides of the wall!!

Anyway, we had free time the entire night and the best part? No curfew! We went somewhere to drink and eat side dishes :P Tried the rice wine because Jeonju is famous for Bibimbap and Rice Wine!

Entire gang combing the streets.
Gigantic teddy.

Supper time!

Overwhelmed by Korean side dishes...

새우 뒤김 (Prawn Tempura)
32 Hannam students in the same restaurant!
After we left the place everyone decided to go 노래방 (kbox)! We dropped by one but there wasn't room for almost twenty of us. So they went to another while Yvonne and I walked back to our guesthouse.

They said my face & body was red from the rice wine...
Maybe just a little? :P
Yixin and Meihwa at home alr, so we lepak, talk crap, sing song until the rest came back.

Cos they were too bored.

At 12am Yvonne and Yixin went out to walk again. Think they came back around 3+.

Tomorrow will be more interesting, so stay tuned!!
