Day 82: 17 November, Sunday

Temperature: 5/16 degrees
Weather: Windy

Yes its Sunday, Sean's birthday!!! Happy 19th Birthday to Sean, our bitchy little sister!

We gave him a surprise yesterday night by spamming him (all seven of us) privately on whatsapp birthday wishes and his old photos! That was just part one.

We (the girls) woke up early this morning to go to Paris Baguette to get him a mini cake (cheesecake). We "shunbian" got our breakfast too haha.

Korea's candles look like this.
Peach jelly from PB!
Disappointed to find it expired again. Second time in Korea.
We brought the cake to the guys room and the plan was to scare/surprise him! But we made too much noise so he woke up and the plan changed. Hahaha. The girls climbed onto Adrial's bed and we took photos together!!! That was part two. We went back to our rooms to prepare and headed out for breakfast at Bonjuk (the porridge shop)!

Breakfast!
Had our breakfast and then cabbed down to Expo Park for cycling! But sadly when we arrived, it started drizzling and the wind was so strong (see Instavideo) and we were so cold! It was like a hurricane was coming or something (not kidding) and we were so under dressed!! So we decided to change the plan to wet weather. We headed to Dunsan-dong to watch movie!

It was my first time watching a movie in Korea! They have those ticket machines for you to check availability of movies and seats and timings. And then you get a queue number and wait to be served at the ticketing counter.

We caught the 1.10pm time slot of "Gravity"! Bought popcorn and nachos and everything. The movie is basically about how a female astronaut Ryan Stone who survives every ordeal to get back to Mother Earth from space after their spaceship (or whatever you call that) is being hit and destroyed. The movie is kinda lame and boring, but the moral of the story is "never give up", because despite encountering many problems that may have led to her dying in space she didn't give up, and she finally made it back to Earth to tell the amazing story. Yeah. And movie ticket was KRW$8,000. A bit wasted for the movie.

Hunger Games!
Surprisingly understood the Korean words.
Gravity! English audio & Korean subtitles.
After movie in washroom
Thor!
Loki!
Anyway, the weather was perfect after the movie! It was clear blue skies with fluffy white clouds so we decided to go cycling again! The sky was too pretty so I couldn't resist taking photos (and video). Hehe :P #fanofclouds

And a group shot!
So we walked from Dunsan-dong to Expo Park and rented individual bicycles for eight of us for 2 hours! It was KRW$10,000 for two hours. The eight of us set off on an adventure!

Got our bicycles!
And off we go!

There is this bridge at the Expo Park that is famous/popular which is so pretty especially at night. We cycled past the bridge and I took many photos (while cycling)! But 30mins into cycling the sky turned gloomy again... And the wind got so strong that our eyes hurt so we headed for shelter.

While waiting for the rain to stop I spotted cute kids around. This twins clad in pink winter wear were cycling together, and this two young kids were on a unicycle with their dad! I am so amazed! (see video)

Rain is coming...
Feels like a thunderstorm
The cute pink twins!!
In another 20mins the sky was cleared so we headed out again! I was greeted by the most wonderful sight of the weather: where one side of the sky is sunny with blue skies and white clouds, and the other side filled with dark clouds. I took a panorama photo of it and am deeply amazed by Mother Nature.

So any logical person would have chosen to cycle towards the sunny side, and we did! The wind was really cold and it was pretty shiok. But after some time it got kinda too cold for us because like I said we were under dressed and the worse thing was that we didn't wear gloves. Our hands felt so cold and numb and soon it started hurting. Towards the end of the ride I couldn't even feel my hands! We were kinda tired and hungry too, so we headed back to return our bikes 20mins before scheduled time.

I was excited to see ducks can. Singapore don't have lol. (see video)

The sun is so glaring
Another panorama of the beautiful sea view :)

Our bikes
And then we found this really good spot to take photos which was the middle of a lake/river!!

It was a really good place for photos.

Doesn't this photo look inspirational?
"Eight of us in a foreign country for six months..."
"Means its time to have fun and be adventurous..."
"So here we are having fun..."
"And live while we are young!"

Super pretty picture thanks to Adrial but missing him :(
Don't they look like a couple on honeymoon? Haha :P
The girls <3
Headed to Dunsan-dong again for dinner. Everyone on the streets were n their winter wear and there we are in our hoodies and knitwear (only)! Haha we must have looked like aliens.

Cool sculpture
 Pretty pictures of sunset!!

Wanted to take a selfie while walking but we all know a selfie is the first step to a photo bomb...

Here comes Cheryl.
And then Meihwa
And Yvonne...
And the moment Yixin came in she totally blocked Cheryl. Hahahaha xD
Finally a group shot.
I walked from the back and saw the seven of them walking together on the streets and I am always so happy that the eight of us always hang out together. So glad to let everyone know that the eight of us Singaporeans are one; feel so great to have them. I'm thankful.

Walked into some shopping mall to hunt for food but I took lots of photos too~Its like ION Orchard.

If you can see the time its 5.30pm yet the sky is turning dark alr...

Cool chair designs!

Christmas decor?
So we attempted to get dinner but couldn't decide on where so we randomly settled in some western restaurant for dinner. Let the pictures do the talking~

Wanted to have Robocook (and their honey-dipped cheese pizza)
but there wasn't space for us :(
Settled dinner here!

Volcano Hamburger Steak
Cheese Topping Hamburger Steak
Onion Steak

Okay actually the food wasn't that good. Hamburger Steak is actually just like minced meat patty. I'd give the restaurant a 5/10.

We cabbed back to our dorm after dinner. Here comes part 3 of the surprise to Sean's Birthday. Those who were in a different cab from Sean went to Baskin Robbins to get him an ice cream cake! Then we swiftly went back and met the rest at the lounge.

We sang him a birthday song in the lounge and passed him his birthday gift (sweater because he wanted one) and our handmade birthday card (by Yixin!) We all shared the birthday cake (it was entirely ice cream) and the flavours were pretty unique!

BR calendar so cute ^^
Meihwa and her awkward cake box ><

Happy Birthday Sean!!

QR code spotted.
Half-eaten ice cream cake.
We wrote our wishes in the birthday card anonymously so we asked Sean to guess who wrote which one. He apparently only guessed one right so he got cheesecake (the one from morning) smashed on his face!! And then the cake smashing thing started... Adrial started going to everyone and smashing cheesecake on everyone's face!
Sean with his face full of cheesecake!
Yeah everyone kenna... Including me... And then Meihwa decided to grab the last piece of ice cream cake and revenge on Adrial. But obviously she failed... Until Taiquan and Cheryl grabbed Adrial!!

Yeah the ice cream was on his face and his jacket too... But because his jacket was important so everyone started helping him clean up... And then Cheryl said this is bullshit. Smashing cake on him still need clean up for him. Hahaha!

Watch the videos of cake smashing here...

So our night kinda ended like this. It was really a fun day with the Hannam 8 and I really cannot express my love for them... They're like family already, we see each other each day every day, in school and at home. These memories are indeed gonna last forever :)

Group shots we took today~

Looking forward to creating more memories before returning to Singapore!! Guys believe me, its really fast, I'm ending my semester in less than a month!!!

And counting down to K Attack 3! Exactly one more week... I saw my cuzzie Cheiry bought tickets to K Attack 3!! Hope she enjoys the concert!! :D
