Post-OSEP Day 27: 30 January, Thursday

Taxi was at 5am so I woke up at 4.30am. 4.5 hours of sleep. I slept on the cab for half an hour and was totally "unconscious" until I reached Shang. Slept for another 10mins before going to work.

The moment Jennifer saw me she was like they don't need more hostess so why am I here. I said Yeehong said Giovanni asked for 5 hostess in the morning plus they needed a chinese-speaking staff to handle the chinese guests.

So I did hostess in the morning until 11am. Wasn't that bad after all. I was really stressed about it initially, but thankful thankfully my three Korean unnie colleagues (Bowon unnie, Dasom unnie and Kyunghee unnie) who helped me along so that I survived my day!

I had lunch at cafe and wanted to collect pay at 2.30pm. I hung around at Shang and was offered a "clerk-cum-personal-assistant" job by my manager in The Line but I'm not really sure whether he was serious. Was also offered a full-time position by the HR staff which I am considering. Wish me luck!

During lunch one of my colleagues was sharing with us the fun of having an identical twin. And all of us were laughing so much especially during that time when both of them were working together and even the guest was confused by them. Super hilarious and fun.

So after I collected my pay I went home to help my mum out for reunion dinner. Steamboat for tonight!!!

On the way home I was thinking I finally can sleep early tonight but I forgot we're going countdown at grandma house!

We headed for grandma house at 9pm. I was tired but wanted to hang in there for countdown because I was afraid if I took a nap I wouldn't wake up in time for countdown. I hanged in there until 11.45pm where I suddenly felt damnnnn sleepy so I wen in to take a nap. I know right, 15mins to countdown. So yes, I slept through countdown. Hahaha.

Wearing red and painting nails is a must for us.
Our family left at 1am and I was still groggy actually. Slept on the car too and the moment I went home I went to sleep straight away. End of CNY eve countdown!! Happy New Year to all my friends and family!!

Post-OSEP Day 26: 29 January, Wednesday

Asked to work at 8am by Yeehong and also so that she could return me the hours she owed me.

When I turned up at The Line in uniform, I saw that my name wasn't in the station plan. I asked Byran and he said Yeehong told him I would be hostess. Came as a shock but I went to change anyway.

Considering this is my first time working hostess for morning breakfast, I was pretty panic-ky. Its different from what it used to be. It was very busy but all I could do was stand there because I didn't know what to do. I think the other hostess were a little stressed by me too. So after some 20 minutes I told Byran to change me to Buffet Ambassador. Yes I am that versatile hahaha.

I met up with Chef Amer and followed him around to do Buffet Ambassador and gathered feedback from the guests and engaged in conversations with the guests. I'm not fully trained so I'm still a little afraid to speak to the guests. Gotta work harder and do better!!

One of the guests saw me and asked me, "Did you get promoted?" I was shocked by his question and asked him, "Did you notice something?" He replied me and said he see me everyday but was wondering why I changed to a different uniform today. He shook my hand and congratulated me despite me explaining that I was just helping out. Haha, happy that guests remembered me.

Also, another guest spoke to me and he gave me his namecard. He said he wanted people like me at his workplace haha. He's the director of some shop I forgot. And he commented that I looked sexy. Hahaha, not showing off or what but this is like the only word that I can accept to describe me. I know I'm not exactly sexy, but don't judge me okay.

At 11am I went to help Sophia with her barista preparation for lunch because she was going crazy. So after discussions they agreed to let me help Sophia for lunch. Meaning two baristas for lunch!!

I ended work at 3pm and then went up to Banquet to continue work. There was this Henna Ceremony for the bride of an Indian Couple who were getting married on Friday. Because its a muslim event and sort of a ladies night for the bride, all the ladies participating were not wearing their hijab so they specially requested for all female staff. Halimah was in charge of the event, and she let Emily and I take charge of half a ballroom each, and to take care of the VIP tables.

Jason asked who wants Koi and when I said me he gave me this. #whatmybosssays
Emily and I left at 11pm while the other staff stayed on till 1am because the guests wanna dance till 1am haha. Ironically, it was a non-alcohol event.

So Emily and I went to have supper at 925 Yishun after work. Yums.

Working 6am tomorrow so I showered the the fastest I could and slept at 1am.

Post-OSEP Day 26: Work is the best remedy for everything.

Post-OSEP Day 25: 28 January, Tuesday

So like I mentioned from my previous post, I start work at 6am so the taxi came to pick me up at 5am. That's about 4 hours of sleep? Haha.

Helped Jason do set up for the breakfast event for VIP when I reached and at about 7.30am when I was done Jason was telling Syam that he needed a girl with brains and Syam just pointed to me. "But her brains can only use until 8am." hahaha yes sadly xD

So I went for training with Chef Amer for my new position which took one hour. Shall not elaborate on the training details because it will be top boring.

Training ended at 9am and I went to take a break till 10am before heading back to banquet again.

Helped to stand by in the VIP waiting room for first coffee break and then once it was over we cleared up and it was almost 12 already. I was feeling tired so I told Jason I wanted to sign out and go home but Jason wanted me to serve the second coffee break at 3.30pm so he gave a me a 45-minute break while everyone was busy at the Tower Ballroom buffet lunch. Love working with familiar people because we can accustom to each other's working habits. So I came back at 12.45pm and helped out at Tower buffet lunch because it was soooo busy and chaotic. And I got annoyed at some staff who really do things that make me wanna facepalm. First time rushing about so much in an event (plus I have no station) so for the first time I felt like a captain haha.

VIP Holding Room
Box of shining new teaspoons
This Opera Slice tastes heavenly.
And I saw Neminda!!! He was damn shocked to see me and he kept repeating "oh my god" because he couldn't believe I was back haha. And saw Syam too!

So after helping out at lunch I continued to prepare for the second coffee break and when it finally ended I went to sign out at 4.30pm.

Dropped by The Line to arrange working schedule with Yeehong and saw Peter and Maria who just came back from China. Miss these familiar people so much. Spoke to the new Taiwanese trainee Eric after work and we got along quite well! He was very amazed that I know so many people in Shang despite me telling him I already worked for four years and in many departments. Through talking to him, it made me wanna stay in Shang more because of the ties I've built over the years with everyone.

Post-OSEP Day 25: Being emotionally attached isn't a good thing sometimes.

Post-OSEP Day 24: 27 January, Monday

Work at 8am at The Line and they gave me training for my new position at 9am regarding service. After which I continued working for lunch and then banquet at 3pm because Nadya said there is a vvvvvip event hahaha.

Training while having waffles for breakfast.
So I ended up working with Jason (which means its really important) and it was a dinner hosted by MFA for Her Royal Highness Thai Princess (idk her name) held in Red Azalea. I started my set up and everything but I really left banquet for some time and I was still a bit skeptical about working alone for set up and for such an important event.

VIP setting in Red Azalea
I had no problems with checking the table settings and I went to collect flowers, tissue, water jugs and some other stuff. Jason then asked me to prepare condiments so I just said "okay" but in actual fact I don't know what to prepare. So I went into the kitchen and asked one auntie and she told me "prepare chilli sauce and red chilli" so I did as told. Until the end then I realised it was a western meal so I didn't need chilli in the first place!!! Jason also found it weird (I think he thought I was crazy too) and asked whether I'm okay haha. Oops.

So I managed to complete in the end and then Daniel came over to tell me one of the chairs in the room is faulty and that if I can find out the chair he'd pay me an extra hour. So I was determined to find that chair and I found it eventually (after like 10mins) that the chair has some loos screw such that when you shake it there's noises. So I pulled it out and I went off to take something. When I came back I saw the chair was back in place only to know Jason already replaced it. After that when I met Daniel, I told him that he owe me an extra hour of pay but he tried to deny it by saying I have no evidence that I was the one who found it. *sobs* Daniel always lie to me sia.

Yeah and so when the other staff came it was already 5.30pm and Jason asked me, "you haven't had dinner right?" I replied, "nope, but I don't need." and he was like, "hmm good." I understand Jason's working style already after working with him so many times.

And then Giovanni popped by and spoke to Jason regarding my work tomorrow. I was supposed to be scheduled for my new position training at 8am on Tuesday but Jason was saying he needed me for a 6am vip event so I called Giovanni to ask if I could reschedule my training, So he came and told Jason he needed me for the training and that he cannot let Jason have me (hahahaha). So I popped up from behind and Giovanni was like, "speaking of the devil." He then jokingly asked Jason and Daniel (who joined their conversation), "so you're saying that there is nothing that can be done to help my girlfriend?" while pointing to me. Yes he was kidding (duh). And then they all laughed and Daniel replied, "but boss, she's taller than you leh. " Hahahahaha xD

So I shall not disclose details about the event (because its P&C) but it was okay. Not perfect but okay. I told Jason again before I go that if he didn't mind I can help him tomorrow from 6am to 8am and he was fine with it. After all, I always believed in rendering help when they needed me.

I went down to tell the clerk Halimah that I will be working at 6am tomorrow and asked her to arrange transport for me but she shook her head and said no. She said that Giovanni called her to say that she better not let me work at 6am because he doesn't want me to feel tired for the training. Okay then.

But eventually Jason persuaded Halimah to let me come at 6am but on the condition (as per Halimah) that I do not let Giovanni know about it. Hahaha like some big secret like that.

I didn't go home straight after work but went out with one of my friends. What happened this night shall not be disclosed for the privacy of both of us. But for friends who know about, I'm just having mixed feelings as to why is history happening again.

Only true friends know my story.
Post-OSEP Day 24: Maybe somethings indeed happen for a reason. I do wanna know why sometimes.

Post-OSEP Day 23: 26 January, Sunday

Having first reunion lunch for CNY!

Meeting my aunt and uncle and Grandma at Sembawang Shopping Centre at 1pm and had our set lunch there. The food is not bad and I guess the price is reasonable.

Post-OSEP Day 23: Chinese New Year is coming again, and that means all of us have aged again. I miss my teenage years.

Post-OSEP Day 22: 25 January, Saturday

Today is Day 2 of the NYP Musical but I'm not involved!

Woke up at 9am to head to Bedok Mall to meet Amanda and JD for dimsum brunch!

Chris was supposed to join us too but he had last minute matters so he couldn't join us. Guess what we had for dimsum brunch? Tim Ho Wan!!! Yes dimsum brunch again after Swee Choon supper yesterday night but life's good :D

Its more expensive compared to Swee Choon and the only thing good was the baked bun!!! Damn good (Y) We even bought takeaways after that.

So after eating we walked to Bedok Point and shopped a little, got Gongcha and took photos with Polaroid and fish eye lens!!

Gongcha for three :D

After which at about 3pm we parted ways because we all had afternoon plans.

After that I went home and stayed home till at night.

#throwback Love this photo very much Love the people more.
Post-OSEP Day 22: Food never fails to make my day better. Especially good food.

Post-OSEP Day 21: 24 January, Friday

TGIF! Yet another week has passed! How time flies... Next week is CNY already!!

I actually promised to work today at 8am yesterday until I realised that I was involved in the NYP Musical "Viva: NYP Performing Arts Production" held at Esplanade on the 24th and 25th. I had no choice but to text Byran to cancel my shift and thankfully he was okay.

Slept in (its a luxury due to the past few days of morning shifts) and woke up at 10.30am to work on my iPad. I don't understand why but I cannot drag movie files into my iTunes! I wanted to put videos into my iPad so I could watch it at Esplanade. Apple is the nerve of me man. Thankfully no data was lost.

Well, I gave up putting those videos in the end so I only synced music. Yikloong whatsapp-ed me asking whether I was at work and asked about the performance tonight so I decided to ask Tiamhong what time was he going since I already knew Yikloong was going after work.

Arranged with Tiamhong to meet in school but I went ahead first to meet Wangwei after the end of her Cheers morning shift. We sat in Koufu a while before going to Block E Students Union Office to collect our Chingay 2014 shirt at 1pm. We met Choon Giap there too, but he said he wasn't going for the musical.

In Koufu :D
After which Wangwei and I went back to Koufu to get seats while waiting for Tiamhong. Yikloong said he'll come too once Tiamhong arrive. Tiamhong went to look for Yikloong first at his office before both of them joined us at Koufu.

We bought lunch and Tiamhong treated us to drinks. The two of them were busy discussing CO matters and Wangwei and I just kept quiet or talked our own stuff. Two of them forever so busy. Haha.

We left school at about 3pm and Tiamhong said Yikloong was driving us to town which I didn't believe because he's supposed to be working. But we walked to the carpark and I almost believe when Tiamhong was putting his shoe and laptop in Yikloong's car boot until they closed the carboot and told us "Let's go." That's when I realised they were lying to us!! *inserts angry emoji* they were just putting stuff into his car. Lol.

So Tiamhong, Wangwei and I took the train to City Hall. And we walked to Marina Square and headed to Zara where Tiamhong wanted to buy white basic tee (yes from Zara lol :P) and perfume for his grandmother. He bought a "for him" perfume for his ahma and we couldn't comprehend at first until he said his ahma likes the smell of him that's why... Hahaha.

I tried on a dress that I liked too! But its $69.90 so I hestitated a little. Its nice though its simple. My style. Haha. To buy or to not buy? :P

Anyway, once we were done with shopping, we headed to Starbucks and got ourselves a drink. Caramel Frappé for him, Earl Grey Tea Latte for her and Java Chip for me. Yums. #starbucks #make #me #happy

*no photos*

It was 4+ and we decided to head to Esplanade already since we had nothing much to do. We reached Esplanade at 4.30pm and went to security office to exchange for our Esplanade passes. Tiamhong and I got ours as stage crew but Wangwei didn't have hers. The security told us to try another side so we went.

On the way to the other security office Tiamhong called Jacky to ask about Wangwei's backstage pass. I heard him speaking over the phone asking him to bring the pass out for him. And I was jokingy telling Wangwei, "Who are you sia. Ex-ex president ask people bring your pass out for you." If we weren't with Tiamhong, I guess we would be two freaking lost sheep sitting by the side crying already. Hahaha.

So Alvin and Lee Kim came out with Heather's (alumni) Esplanade pass (and Lee Kim passed me tickets for tonight's musical as well) and passed it to Wangwei. We were trying to let Wangwei in under another person's name. But the security asked for Wangwei's IC number (which is clearly different from Heather's) and Wangwei's IC to double check. He then told us that it was not her pass and she will not be allowed entry. Tiamhong went in while I went out with Wangwei. Tiamhong said he'll contact me later.

So Wangwei and I sat at the outdoor theatre a while and had small chats while watching Sheng Ensemble having sound check for their performance (probably) tonight.

At about 5.30pm we went back in to meet Jinsan and Jinli at Toast Box because they were gonna have dinner and Jinsan wanted to pass me tickets for tomorrow's show (I asked for it). We joined them for dinner until they went backstage at about 6pm. We stayed a little longer at Toast Box while waiting for doors to be open at 7pm.

At 6.30pm, Tiamhong whatsapp-ed me to say that they were outside the theatre already, so Wangwei and I went to meet them after we went to the washroom.

We waited outside the theatre hall for some 15 minutes because we didn't want to enter the hall so early. Tiamhong specially put his backstage pass on his bag so that the security and "NYP Ambassador Team" would not come and disturb us thinking that we are just some regular audience.

Waiting...
At about 7.40pm we headed up to Circle 2 and entered the Theatre Hall. Its similar to Concert Hall that NYPCO used to perform for K Attack but slightly bigger in terms of capacity. Pre-show starts at 7.45pm and the actual starts at 8pm.

I've actually watched the entire performance before (full run in school) but for the sake of the lighting and the multimedia effects (something that the eternal Artistic Director Dr Danny Tan loved a lot) we watched it again.

Love the formation!!!
Last song!
Indorr fire sparks :P
Finale!!
Tiamhong was already falling asleep halfway through the show while I was commenting on the show so much to Wangwei. It wasn't perfect but you can see the effort put in by every individual. There were flaws too. CO is in a pit below stage level, which means audience at Level 1 cannot see them. From my view at Level 3, I could only see half the orchestra, not including the conductor. And for SO, they were all the way at the end of the stage which was deep deep in, so we only saw half of them. Still, applause for everyone involved in the production.

When the performance ended we parted ways because Tiamhong and Yikloong wanted to head backstage but Wangwei couldn't because she didn't have the backstage pass. Anyway we wouldn't have anything to do backstage too since we weren't part of committee. The moment they left for backstage I realised I forgot to pass tickets to Tiamhong so she can pass to Jinsan backstage. Jinsan asked me for tickets for Saturday's performance for her family. I called Tiamhong but he didn't answer. So I called Yikloong and I told him to u-turn because I needed to pass tickets to Tiamhong and he was complaining that he lazy to walk out so he asked me to walk in. I said okay because I had the backstage pass.

When I reached the stage door just when I saw Tiamhong and Yikloong walk out, I saw Jinsan waiting for me there too. Just as I wanted to walk up to her and pass her the tickets she suddenly ran away together with a few other CO members and I don't know why. So I passed the tickets to Tiamhong and Wangwei and I left.

We walked through CityLink and boarded the train at City Hall mrt station. We were feeling hungry so we planned to have supper at Yishun!! We rushed to catch the Yishun train so that we could get a seat!

When we were at Orchard, Yikloong called me and asked where were we. I told him we were at Orchard. He asked whether we wanted to have supper and i replied him "yes" excitedly and told him Wangwei and I planned to eat at Yishun. The final conclusion over the phone was for us to head back to City Hall because he parked his car at Marina Square. So we headed back. Haha.

We met them at CityLink and headed to Marina Square to find his car. But apparently he couldn't remember where he parked his car so Tiamhong asked him, "你从哪里来?" in which he replied "妈妈肚子" and that cracked me up. The two of them really too funny lah. xD

Yikloong drove us to Swee Choon to have dimsum! Ironically it was Tiamhong, Wangwei and my first try! Haha. I always heard it was popular but didn't have the chance to try it. The two of them made a lot of chinese word puns which was damn hilarious I swear. Still laughing when I think about it now.

YL: "小笼包要叫几个?"
TH: "一笼 (Yikloong) 有几个?"
YL: "一个,在这里。" *points to himself*

Hahahahaha xD

So we ended up ordering quite a lot of food but it was good!!! Yumsssss :)

We finished eating and plans for Rochor Beancurd was cancelled because we were feeling quite full already. Yikloong sent Wangwei home first before sending me home. Grateful to him for sending us back :D

It was a really fun day hanging out with the two of them because they're really funny people to begin with although they are full of bullshit also xD

Post-OSEP Day 21: So glad to have friends who are always able to make you laugh no matter what happens. Thankful to have people like them in my life.
