Day 7: 03 September, Tuesday

Tuesday is a very hectic day for me. I have class from 10.30am to 5.45pm with 15mins breaks in between.

Their classroom
The first class was International Business Negotiations. Professor Philip Rose. He was from Switzerland and had his Masters and Ph.D in various areas. He walks around in class too much that it makes me giddy at times. And he always stops in the middle of the word "negotiation". Like he says, "so, for international business nego...... tiations". Hahaha. But he's a nice guy though. Many questions.

Next was MICE at 12pm. It was a 2 hour 50 minute lesson so we were hoping it will not be too boring. The professor was a korean lady. She spoke so softly and slowly that I almost fell asleep. She's a nice person too. She asked us to decide which industry we wanna do so we all chose Events. Class ended early though.

Cos we were too bored.
Oh I forgot. I have free time from 3pm to 4.30pm because Introduction to Sociology was not offered this semester. I haven't even had the time to register for another module.

So Yvonne, Cheryl and I went to eat Dak Kal Bi somewhere near our school. It wasn't as nice as the one we ate that day but still, korean food daebak.

We went to check out Yoga classes after lunch, and the korean lady spoke to us in fluent korean for 10 minutes till my brain shut down towards the end and couldn't comprehend anymore. It was $240 for 4 lessons. Somewhat expensive I guess.

On the way home, we walked past those machines where you put 50cents and grab a doll. I tried a few times and I swear I almost got it. Sigh, I want that Pororo. :(

Pororo :(
We got back to our dorm, rested a while and went back to school for our last lesson, Operations Management. Lesson turned out to be different from what we expected. The professor was William Hickey. He came in sternly, took attendance and started the lesson. He taugh us about statistics, about the three types of bell curves, central tendency etc. Surprisingly, we were the only ones who could answer his questions because I think it is too difficult for the korean students.

In the middle of the class, he drew a fishbone on the board and asked what was that. I joked to myself saying that it looked like a fishbone and looked like the fishbone technique I learnt in SOQM (Service Operations and Quality Management) and turned out it was! "This is the Ishikawa Fishbone Technique." I think he saw my face so he asked whether I know the 4 Ms. I remembered Method, Manpower, Materials, but I couldn't recall Machine! But this professor was a mindblowing one cos in his class he made us think so much. About disparity of concepts and everything else. He's good.

Class ended for the day. We realized there was nothing much to eat even though it is only our first week in Daejeon!

Staring at chickens hungrily.
We settled to eat at Lotteria, some fastfood outlet in Korea. It was almost $6 per meal and tasted average only.

A few shots of the evening skies.

After dinner we went to the stadium in school and found over a hundred ahjumas dancing there! It was so fun that Cheryl, Yvonne, Taiquan and Sean joined in. We walked one round around the stadium to burn our fats. Haha. Too much good food already.

Ahjumas dancing!

We met Sean's buddy, Tom, on the way back and asked him a few questions. We're back in our dorm already so I'm gonna go bathe and prepare for 9am lesson tomorrow. I'm still fretting about my laptop. Sigh. Have an early night!
